Poufs!! Poufs are one of my favorite items to add to any living space. They provide not only great function, but they can add a fun design element as well. Having a place to put your feet up without a large ottoman, makes every reading corner, sofa and living room chair better for relaxing! I even have them on my outdoor patio with my swivel chairs.

Poufs come in many different materials, sizes and colors. My favorite, go to pouf, is the one above from West Elm available here. It is Moroccan leather and comes in a variety of great colors including a beautiful dark blue. It is very firm ,which provides support for your legs, resulting also in good lower back support. If a pouf is too soft, it can cause lower back pain after sitting with your feet on it for too long, as your legs are not supported enough.

Poufs are relatively inexpensive, easy to move around a space and can even do double duty as a place to sit, especially for children. I have a client who had her son use it to practice his balance. He turned it on it’s side and tried walking on it to roll it across the room! The leather versions are very durable and easy to clean.
