Sophisticated Inner Beach Vibes Eat In Kitchen

Sophisticated Inner Beach Vibes

How do you create beach vibes inside? This is what we had to solve for in this New Canaan Connecticut home, far away from the sea. These dual executives had a love for surf and sand and wanted a beach feeling in the kitchen. The calm of blues and whites combine with natural materials to make every day feel like being on vacation.

Behind the Design

We went custom on most of the design elements, including custom cabinets and a built-in banquette to create the desired aesthetic. The custom island combined 2 different stains to achieve a natural look with a touch of blue.

“The built-in banquette seats more people than chairs would have allowed and has the added benefit of storage.”

The House of JerMar Experience

“Jeanne’s expertise helped us achieve exactly what we wanted, which was no small feat. We combined our love of the beach with a more sophisticated and classic aesthetic. The result is absolutely fantastic and functional.”

Wellness Design Feature

Clutter increases stress and anxiety. In this kitchen, we hid all the morning coffee needs behind cabinet doors to keep the counters free of collected clutter.

Getting Creative with Wallpaper

I love to use wallpaper in any room! The days of old when wallpaper didn’t easily go up or come down are far behind us. Wallpaper adds personality, texture, and movement to a room. It also makes a room unique for the homeowner. It comes in many price points, materials, and patterns. There are thousands of papers on the market, so whatever you choose, it can be unique to you!
