Don’t forget the room’s jewelry

To me, the artwork is the jewelry that makes the outfit complete. Artwork is personal, draws emotions from the viewer, and can be a reminder of experiences or destinations visited by the homeowner. It can add personality, color, and a chance to reflect and ponder what the artist is trying to communicate. Artwork is the perfect way to complete a room design.

When it comes to size, the bigger the better! I like artwork to fill a wall and make a statement. When building a new home or doing a renovation, it is important to consider artwork in the design. You need enough wall space for the artwork to be the proper scale and also lighting to showcase the pieces.

I can design rooms around an existing piece of artwork, or design a room and then seek out or commission the perfect pieces to finish the space. It is important to assign a budget for artwork up front in a project so it isn’t a last-minute extra expense.
