Lessons from Coaching: Looking Inward

Lessons About Myself That May Resonate with You

I am passionate about continual learning. I often think, “If I could get paid to learn, that would be amazing!”

As a mindset coach and somebody enrolled in an extended coaching training program, learning more about coaching and about myself helps me become a better coach, which in turn allows me to help my coaching clients.

I thought it might help you, my readers, if I shared some of my latest personal learnings from the various coaching sessions I have participated in over the last few months.

Every coach needs a coach!

Any coach you consider working with should be actively engaged in continual learning or working with their own coach. Every coach brings a unique specialty and modality to a coaching session, so I enjoy working with different coaches at different times, depending on what I need to work on.

For example, sometimes I am seeking help with my business, so I will have sessions with someone who can help me focus on my innate strengths to help me uncover how to solve a challenge or roadblock. Or I might be struggling with my confidence and need guidance to quiet my mind. Yes, even a mindset coach needs help sometimes focusing on my mind!

There is so much you can learn about yourself through coaching. It is a journey, never a destination. Coaching focuses inward to find the answers that align with your true self. It may sound cliché, but the answers are always within. Coaches are there to guide you and to point out the reminders you need along the way.

So, let me share some of what I learned from recent coaching sessions:

  • Based on my human design, I am a generator. I am here to lift the energy of the world. This feels exactly like me! I am often told I have amazing energy, and my business mission to empower 1 million women stems from my desire to inspire and motivate.
  • Based on my human design, I am here to transform people’s thinking. Being told this was a moment of feeling great alignment since I am an empowerment and mindset coach!
  • My heart is my soul and my truth.
  • My gut or intuition is my timing.
  • It is important to learn the difference between fear-based decisions and intuition-based decisions.
  • My intuition is what pops up as a response to a question before my mind has a chance to think about it.
  • My human design inner authority is emotional, meaning clarity and space to make decisions are key for me.
  • Menopause is something I cannot control in my body, but I can control what goes into my body that either ignites it or calms it.
  • Being vulnerable and sharing my menopause experiences can help me feel in control. Also, providing humor around it gives it less power.
  • Learning ways to embrace the new phase of my body. This is an ongoing exercise for me. Menopause is changing my body in ways I do not enjoy, so learning to love my body as it is today, is a daily practice.
  • Learning to re-define business success as metrics other than hitting financial targets. Coming up with lead-generating activities, which, over time, will show me that if I complete those monthly, the business will come, especially since I operate in a mostly referral-based business. Taking my power back over the business when it feels unpredictable.
  • Reminders that money is just energy. It flows like everything else. There is plenty of it in the universe. Focus on being in the energy field that will align with the flow of energy and abundance.
  • Getting into alignment means taking ownership of my life and sitting in a frame of the future me who has hit the impossible target.
  • I am a magnet. Pay attention to which way the magnet faces, outward to attract or inward to repel?
  • Fully stepping into my purpose and passion means expressing it confidently at all times.

These are just the highlights that came to me as I write this, but WOW, what a list from just a few months of coaching.

If you are seeking a coach, you can set up a free 30-minute coaching consultation call here. If I am not the right coach for you, I can try to refer you to someone who might be.

One of my latest podcast episodes was with Jason Drees, who is an alignment coach. He focuses on finding your frame, which is above your mindset and is the frequency of you. It is a fascinating concept, which I am excited to learn more about it as I work more deeply with his team.  You can watch to the podcast episode here.
