Vision Boards
See your vision. Manifest your reality.
I believe strongly in manifestation and understand that a critical part of doing that is to be able to visualize your life with you having what you are trying to create. See yourself living the desired outcome Feel yourself in that life. Write about it and speak about it as if it has already happened. Then, don’t be attached to the timeframe, the path, or the specifics of the outcome.
However, one way to manifest that I have never been able to get into is through vision boards. Maybe that is because I have always had images of tearing apart magazines searching for the perfect images. Then, I had the challenge of creatively putting them together onto a board that looked good and represented my dreams. First, I am not actually a creative person when it comes to crafts. Second, what if I can’t find images representing what I want? Third, what if I don’t know what I want?
That mindset has prevented me from embracing the power of vision boards. Until recently!
I read several books referencing the “requirement” of vision boards in branding, career path development, life coaching, and manifesting. Plus, it had come up on a podcast I listened to, and it came up in a coaching class I had taken. It felt like the universe was trying to get me to learn something…..vision boards are something I need to tackle, and until I take on that challenge, I was going to keep hearing messages about how necessary they are in creating my dreams.
So, one-weekend a few months ago, I decided to embrace the concept of vision boards! I decided to find a digital way to design one (that was a suggestion on the podcast I heard). I was pleasantly surprised when I opened Canva and saw LOTS of vision board templates! Wow, the creativity of making it look good has already been done for me!
I quickly found several templates that spoke to me, so I opened multiple options and began my digital image search to see my dreams. I decided to start with the easy things…vacations, travel, spas, and wellness. I quickly found amazing images of places I dreamed of going, experiences I hoped to have, and luxury hotels I wanted to visit. After placing some images into several of the templates, I quickly realized that this “dreaming” could be really fun. There were no boundaries in what I could imagine possible for my life!
After adding in a few luxury personal items, such as a diamond ring, a stunning handbag, and an all-glam outfit, I moved on to my career.
Dream big I thought! So up went TedX, hitting the NY Times Bestseller list, having 1 million followers on my Podcast, images of speaking to thousands of people, and the dream home I wanted to design. I also decided that interior design inspiration needed its own vision board, so I created one full of images of my dream design project.
Spread within these vision boards were key phrases that resonate with me:
“trust the universe”
“do more of what you love”
“balance”
“wellness starts within”
“11:11”
“what you want is already yours”
“abundance”
“luxury”
“harmony”
“remember this, you are worthy of all you desire”
After many hours of happily designing, I had four vision boards that I felt captured my dreams, goals, and what I wanted to manifest. Next up, what do I do with these boards so I can see them daily? I decided to buy a magnetic whiteboard, and thanks to Amazon’s speed, it arrived the next day. I put my four vision board images up on the whiteboard, wrote some inspiring words to myself around them, and put the whiteboard up on my closet doors right next to my desk!
I see them every day. Sometimes, the images feel so far out of reach, but I need to remind myself that I need to SEE IT to MANIFEST IT.
My lesson from this process is this……the creativity in designing the dream is really fun if you open yourself to anything being possible! I have heard many stories about people who have manifested precisely what the image was on their vision boards, so I trust that the universe is listening to mine.
The next time you have a few free hours or are willing to dedicate time to your dreams, try digital vision boards.
See your vision. Manifest your reality.
